LCF students assist UK designer at London Collections:Men
Final year FdA Surface Textile students, Samuel King and Rahela Bizzini have been working with London-based menswear Designer Katie Eary on her SS14 collection. The students designed the entire knitwear collection that showcased as part of London Collections: Men in June, 2013.
LCF spoke to Samuel King, who has now secured permanent employment with the top designer:
“I have been working with Katie Eary for 3 years as one of her assistants. As it came close to my graduation from LCF, Katie offered me the job as Head Knitwear Designer.

"I have been working around my university schedule for 2 years now working for both Katie and also Kanye West in Paris.  For this project, I asked my fellow student, Raheela Bizzini to collaborate with me and we worked together to create the designs”
Inspired by the wilds of Southern Africa, the “Flamingo Massacre” collection showcased strong silhouettes, vivid leopard print, flamingo printed, corocdile silk jacquard, military trousers and some Air Max 90′s. The students created two snake skin inspired jumpers, shorts and a ladies jumper as well as assisting with the design process at the  factory in Milan.
